Before Surgery
- We highly recommend you complete the Health Questionnaire on your patient portal to make
your check-in process and Pre-Op Phone Call more efficient. It is important you follow
our guidelines before surgery to prevent any delays or cancellations. Since every case
is different, be sure that you understand what you need to do to prepare for your
procedure. - Our Preop Nurse will contact you prior to your surgery date to verify appointment
information, review pre-operative preparation instructions, and answer any questions you
may have.
Guidelines
- Follow any special instructions given by your surgeon
- Do not eat/drink anything 8 hours prior to surgery; including smoking, chewing gum, candy, or
mints - It is important to arrange for a responsible adult driver to pick you up after your procedure, you
will not be permitted to leave the facility unaccompanied or alone via Uber/Lyft, Taxi, or any
other transportation service - Please plan to have a responsible adult to stay with you at home after your procedure and throughout the night.
- Although you have a scheduled start time, please leave all day available in case your start time for surgery has changed
Medications
- Take any medications that your surgeon has requested for you to take
- During your Preop Phone Call we will discuss which one of your at home medications you can take
- Patient’s that uses an inhaler should bring them to the center the day of surgery
- Certain medications will need to be stopped prior to surgery; if unsure please call your surgeon
- Diabetic Medications is individualized, this will be discussed during your Preop Phone Call
- Herbal Medications and Weight Loss Medications may have harmful effects on your procedure. Please mention these medications to your Surgeon.
- Remove all items of jewelry prior to your arrival to the center; due to the equipment being utilized, having jewelry can be a potential risk to you during
surgery - Wear loose comfortable clothing, preferably something zip up or button down in the front, nothing you would need to pull over your head.
